Compulsory Basic Training

The first step towards your motorcycle licence

Compulsory Basic Training is provided on a daily basis and must be pre-booked. The course consists of five elements:

The first step
  1. Introduction
  2. Vehicle Maintenance
  3. Off-Road Control
  4. Road Craft
  5. On-Road Training (minimum 2 hours)

The minimum time to legally complete the course is six hours for persons with previous experience. Total beginners or people with slight disabilities may on occasions take longer than one day.

All our courses start at 9:00am prompt, pupils must bring their photo card licence and the course tuition fee with them. Pupils using their own bike must also bring their insurance document and MOT if appropriate.

The motorcycles and mopeds we use are new or near new motorcycles which have proved to be reliable and ideal learning bikes.
